Introduction

BasicBlock wants to stay in touch with you about your account, updates, and special offers that matter to your freight business. This page explains the types of SMS messages and emails we send, and how to manage your communication preferences.

SMS Consent

What We’ll Send via Text

BasicBlock uses SMS to send you time-sensitive information including:

Load notifications and alerts about available loads and load status updates.
Payment confirmations and receipt notifications when funds are advanced or received.
Account balance updates and fuel price notifications.
Urgent support messages and account security alerts.
Promotions and special offers, including load bonuses and fuel discount alerts (when opted in).

Typical message frequency varies based on your activity. During active load periods, you can expect 2-10 messages per week. During slower periods, you may receive fewer messages.

Message & Data Rates

Your wireless carrier may charge you standard SMS messaging rates for any text messages you receive from BasicBlock. Your carrier may also charge you for data usage depending on your plan. BasicBlock does not charge you a separate fee for SMS messages.

If you have an international phone number, your carrier may charge international SMS rates. BasicBlock does not charge additional international fees, but your wireless provider may.

SMS works with AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and other major carriers operating in the United States.

Automated System Disclosure

You acknowledge and agree that:

SMS messages from BasicBlock are sent using an automated text messaging system.
You may receive messages at any time, day or night, and message frequency may vary.
You are not required to opt in to SMS notifications to use BasicBlock’s platform or factoring services.
Opting out of SMS will not affect your access to basicblock.io or your account.

SMS Opt-Out and Your Rights

You can opt out of SMS messages at any time using any of these methods:

Reply “STOP” to any BasicBlock text message. This will unsubscribe you from SMS communications immediately.

When you opt out of promotional SMS, you will stop receiving marketing messages and special offers immediately. However, you may still receive account-critical SMS alerts required to operate your account, such as urgent security notifications or critical payment alerts.

Your SMS Consent

By providing your mobile phone number and consenting to SMS messages, you confirm that:

You are the owner of the mobile phone number you provide.
You consent to receive SMS text messages from BasicBlock at this number.
You understand messages are sent using an automated system and may arrive at any time.
You have read and understood this SMS Consent disclosure.
You agree to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Email Consent

What We’ll Send via Email

BasicBlock sends emails to help you manage and optimize your factoring business. These may include:

Account notifications and updates about your account status, advance requests, and payment activity.
Payment receipts and confirmations when funds are advanced, received, or transferred.
Industry tips and best practices for maximizing your freight business and managing cash flow.
Freight industry news, market updates, and relevant articles.
Special promotions and limited-time offers, including fuel discounts and load bonuses.
Customer surveys, feedback requests, and product updates.

Typical email frequency is 1-3 emails per week, though this may vary based on your account activity and communication preferences.

Email Opt-Out and Your Rights

You can opt out of emails at any time using any of these methods:

Click the “Unsubscribe” link in the footer of any BasicBlock email.
Reply to any BasicBlock email with “Unsubscribe” in the subject line.
Email support@basicblock.io to modify your email settings.

When you unsubscribe from promotional emails, you will stop receiving marketing messages and special offers. However, you will continue to receive transactional emails required to operate your account, including payment confirmations, invoices, account alerts, and support responses.

By providing your email address and consenting to email communications, you confirm that:

You are the owner of the email address you provide.
You consent to receive marketing and transactional emails from BasicBlock.
You understand that BasicBlock emails comply with CAN-SPAM regulations.

Your Communication Preferences

Transactional vs. Promotional Messages

We separate transactional messages from promotional messages so you can control what you receive.

Transactional messages are required to operate your account and provide factoring services. These include payment confirmations, invoices, account alerts, security notifications, and customer support responses. You will receive these messages even if you opt out of promotional communications.

Promotional messages are marketing content that is not required for account operations. These include special offers, discounts, load bonuses, industry tips, and surveys. You can opt out of promotional messages while continuing to receive transactional messages.

Privacy and Data Protection

Your phone number and email address are protected under our Privacy Policy. BasicBlock agrees to:

Store your contact information securely using industry-standard encryption and access controls.
Use your phone number and email only to send communications you have explicitly opted in to receive.
Never sell, trade, or share your phone number or email address with third parties, except as required by law.
Comply with SMS carrier requirements, email authentication standards (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and all applicable data protection laws including GDPR, CCPA, and state privacy regulations.
Retain consent records including timestamps, IP addresses, and consent method for regulatory compliance.

Email Authentication and Security

BasicBlock emails are authenticated using industry-standard protocols to verify sender identity and protect message integrity.

SPF (Sender Policy Framework) verifies that BasicBlock owns the email domain.
DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) cryptographically signs emails to confirm they have not been altered in transit.
DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance) enforces sender policy and prevents domain spoofing.

If you receive an email claiming to be from BasicBlock but cannot verify it through these authentication standards, do not click links or provide any information. Do not reply to the email. Forward suspicious emails to support@basicblock.io immediately so we can investigate.

Regulatory Compliance

BasicBlock complies with all applicable federal and state regulations governing marketing communications and consumer privacy:

TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act) – Governs SMS and phone call marketing. BasicBlock obtains prior express written consent before sending SMS, provides clear opt-out instructions (“STOP”), and respects opt-out requests within 5 business days.

CAN-SPAM (Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act) – Governs email marketing. BasicBlock includes clear identification of commercial messages, accurate subject lines, a valid physical postal address, and a working unsubscribe mechanism on every marketing email.

GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) – Applies to communications with users in the EU. BasicBlock obtains affirmative consent before sending marketing communications and honors withdrawal of consent promptly.

CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act) – Protects California residents’ rights to know what data is collected and how it is used. BasicBlock provides access to your personal information and allows you to request deletion or opt-out of sale of personal information.

HIPAA – Does not apply to BasicBlock factoring services, but BasicBlock does not knowingly collect health information through SMS or email.
